In celebration of a precious new life entering this world, thanks to C&B, I felt in the baby-decor mood! So have decided, seems as I feel like a happy-aunty, to give a few glimpses of some lovely baby decor items.

Christmas decor

Hello there people, I hope your weekend and week past was a happy one. It was quite a busy one for me, I was a bit ill and my best mate in Ozzie had her baby, so its been an exciting week too. I missed blogging, so I thought I would just start this week with a refreshing one, seems as 1st December is nearing our way!

The malls are full of Christmas decor and bright colourful lights, who knows where to begin!? Here are a few nice Christmas decor pieces that caught my eye.

Work Space

The importance of having a comfortable space to work in, get motivated in and do a brilliant job in, is very high in my books. Because it needs to make you feel like you can get up and be productive in what you do. I enjoy finding wonderful ideas on how to make the area you spend most of your week in, an area that oozes your taste and personality but that is practical and welcoming. Here are a few I found in RUE mag.

Here are a few pointers, that I believe help in creating your space. Firstly a desk sizable to your line of work. There is no point trying to cram everything on to one small area. Use a smaller desk or work station to hold things like trays, boxes or paper etc. Use alike storage boxes, trays or filing mechanisms to avoid busyness and cluter.Keep your administrative tools the same and have a fabulous desk lamp that oozes your personality.

Good light is essential to feel awake, motivated and relaxed and last but not least a chair or sofa area where clients and visitors can wait for you or speak to you.

Christmas is coming

I enjoyed looking at the various ideas for Christmas decor, yes I know, its only November. But I could not help being inspired by some of the pics I found. Only a few for today but more will be posted as we reach into the festive season. I enjoy the white decor, which I find non-evasive, clean and honest.

African Art

Local is lekka! I enjoy looking at the many local talents our country and surround holds. Here are just some examples of what’s more to come on this blog.

I just love the colours and polka dots! As seen on the African Heritage site here.

As seen on Perfect Imperfection blog here. Artist unknown.

And this can be found at the Lemon Fish art gallery in West Africa.

Le Spose di Gio

May I introduce you to a modern yet sophisticated, elegant yet playful stream of wedding dresses. Designed by Italy’s finest Le Spose di Gio, these dresses take my breath away. I have followed their beautiful designs  for over a year now and I am amazed every time at how unique, elegant and free these dresses are. Made from carefully chosen fabric, orchestrated by incredibly talented hands, these dresses are available at exclusive stores in Italy. They do mention shipping. They use the finest material and best tailoring to suit the brides needs. I did enquire if they ship to South Africa as my eye was on one of their dresses for my wedding but much to my disappointment, they do not….I am sure my pocket was quite grateful.

{I must say though, that these dresses are worth every penny!}

“Creativity, commitment and continual stylistic research are the elements which have made Le Spose di Gio dresses unique”

If you enjoy white decor for your home, you will love the carefree and subtle ooze of white passion which escapes from each dress.

Enjoy!

{Change}

I know that by doing this I am probably going against all blog rules or principles, but I believe that these expression outlets are whatever we want to create. I have taken some time to decide on what it is exactly, that I desire to express or share. I started FitYou to be a life/fitness blog but have come to realise that I need to be a little more specific. As my decor inspiration is old & new; natural & purposeful; wood & steel; I thought that FitYou would be pretty much that-A mixture of many things that suit our lives or fit our molds.

 I have though come to realise that even if I like things with that approach, it may be difficult for readers or onlookers to grasp the very facet of expression I have been meaning to outlet. My dream is to one day own a shop, one filled with nice things and by nice I don’t mean just pretty girly things, but striking, bold, big, fabulous pieces of art and furniture made by talented, humble, striking and down to earth people who have wooed me by their flair. So I have decided that I am molding this blog to the very things my shop must be filled with- The talents of people just like you and me.

I am not a graphic designer, I am not a writer, I am not an interior designer, I am not a stylist or an artist, neither a person who knows it all. I am just a saffa girl, who digs cool things and enjoys escaping to an inspirational respite, where I can feel at ease, encouraged, peaceful and elegant.

So here it is, changed form FitYou or Creative Stream. I hope the niceties of this blog will find you smiling ,as it has me creating it.
